I would consider myself technologically saavy, but I still do not know all of the ideas that are out there to use. This course will help me to prepare my students for their futures. 21st Century learning is here and as a teacher I need to ensure that I am teaching them in the best possible way and preparing them for the futures they will have with and in the areas of technology. I played Softball, Basketball, did Track, Swam, and played a little Volleyball. With having a brother I also was able to experience football and be around to learn that.
I am now a coach. The last two years I coached elementary track for Parkway Elementary. Last year I coached 6th grade boys basketball at Carden Park. Over the summer I coached three girls basketball teams for Gallatin. I had a 6th grade girls team, a 7th grade girls team, and a 8th grade girls team. This school year I am coaching a few different teams as well. I learned many things while student teaching, one major one being that I did not want to teach the younger kids. I love the older elementary and middle school age kids much better. After graduating in December, I was hired as a Paraprofessional in the St. Joseph School District at Parkway Elementary. This was great experience for me and helped me to learn many different things through experiencing them. My first year of teaching, last school year, I taught 6th grade at Carden Park Elementary in St. Joseph, MO. This was a great experience and I loved my students. This year is my second year of teaching. I am teaching 6th grade math and science at Gallatin Middle School in Gallatin, MO. I attended Winston Elementary, Maysville Junior High, and Pattonsburg High School. I graduated HS in 2013. During HS I was involved in sports and many organizations. Winston is a small, rural community in Northwest Missouri. There are a lot of farms and the closest Walmart is 20 miles away.
While in school I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house before and after school. I use Netflix and a Roku and use my computer on a daily basis.

In my professional life I use technology all day. I have a desktop computer and a Chromebook that I am using at all times. I use a Smart Board, Doc Cam, and Timers every day in almost all of my classes.

I wish to use technology more effectively in my professional life by my students being in charge and using the technology more often instead of me using them and the students relying on me.
