Richard Nixon posing for his picture for presidency. President Nixon was elected because he had a plan to end the Vietnam war which was a major conflict at the time. Nixon wanted to end the war because he didn't want communism to spread from the domino effect. The people believed President Nixon could end the war and bring the troops home very soon. But the war continued on and eventually got to the point where neither side can "win" and it would be a continuous prolonged war. Nixon withdrew the troops and later, Vietnam fell to communism. Nixon couldn't stop communism and failed to keep his word to stop it from spreading.

John F Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. While just arriving in Dallas, Texas JFK was riding through an open top convertible. Moments later, JFK was assassinated and all of America was in complete shock. This happened November 22nd 1963. When this happened, mostly all Americans went into depression because he was one of our best presidents. Abraham Zapruder took pictures and videos of him in the car before he got shot.

Aretha Franklin is a singer and songwriter, who rose to prominence during the 1960s, achieving commercial acclaim and success with multiple songs and melody's. By the end of the 1960s decade, she had gained the title "Queen of Soul." She is also listed as one of the 100 greatest artists of all time.
