They renounced the rationalism and order associated with the preceding Enlightenment era, stressing the importance of expressing authentic personal feelings... They had a real sense of responsibility to their fellow men: they felt it was their duty to use their poetry to inform and inspire others, and to change society...". Romantic Poets tried hard to find possible solutions to - and some relieving elements to oppose - the issues caused by the industrialisation process, so as to contribute to the positive change in the society of the time. Some Romantic novelists were able to portray all the characteristics, vices and virtues, of their contemporaries... And in doing so, all Artists contributed to the huge changes that were taking place after the French Revolution and the Industrialisation process... However, what was the most meaningful, thought-provoking and impactful Literary Genre? Why?
