I started playing music at the age of one and haven’t stopped since. Music is such an important aspect of life, since there is music for everything, I for example listen to music depending on which mood I’m in, and I play when I need a break from the world around me. I’ve played quite a lot of instruments like the saxophone, accordion, marimba I also sing from time to time for fun, but for the last eleven years I’ve played the flute which is quite interesting on a school filled with rhythmic musicians and me being a classic musician, but it’s fun to learn new things.  

I started at Sejergaardens this summer, since it’s a school you only can go to in the tenth year of your school time. I chose the school because of it’s focus on music, but my primary reason to go to “efterskole,” is to create some amazing friendships, that will hopefully last a lifetime. 

I go to a music school in Tølløse called “Sejergaardens Musikefterskole”. The school is not like a normal school where you go home every day after your classes, it’s something called “efterskole” that we have here in Denmark. Efterskole is a school where you live for one year after you finish 9^th grade. You’ll get many good memories, new experiences and a lot of new friends, and that year will be something you can remember forever. The decision to start on this school is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love my roommates, the music lessons and generally being around my friends all the time. Everyone here have gotten to know each other very quickly because we are around each other all the time, so I have already gotten friendships that I know will last for life.

My name is Isabella. I am a 16-year-old girl who enjoys life. I love music, books and my family. I am half Dutch and half Danish, and I love languages. People often tell me that they love my curly hair, and I must say that I am proud of it as well. I sing and try to learn piano. I go to a music school this year, and I really like it. I learn much more about music and I’ve got some new friends. 

Psychology is something that I like to learn more about and helping others is really something that I find important. Being a lovely person with a good personality is also something that I think about being to myself and others. 

I am 16 years old and right now I'm attending Sejergaardens Musikefterskole. It’s a music oriented “boarding” school in Tølløse, Denmark. There really isn't a word for efterskole in English but it's like a year boarding school you can take after primary school. And that is very cool. Because the school has a big focus on music, and I really like music. I have been playing piano since I was 8 and can also play a bit of bass and guitar. I also just really enjoy listening to music.  

In the weekends I go home to my family in Valby which is a suburb of Copenhagen. At home I mostly just chill and see old friends. It is nice to have a break occasionally. And it’s fun to just be home and go watch a movie with some friends or maybe play some Mariokart. 

My name is Ulrikke i’m 16 years old and I am courrently writing from the Music school of Sejergaarden or Sejergaardens musikefterskole, where I live and study in the weekdays!

I am a girl who loves to express herself creatively. Wether it’s singing, sowing, drawing, writing or dancing. I have played the clarinet for almost 6 years now and sung in 4-5 of those. I think (writing and playing) music is one of the most beautiful ways of self expression and creates relations between people that wouldn’t be otherwise. 

Thats also why I chose a music-boarding school. The school is placed on the island of Sjælland in a small town called Tølløse.

In the weekends I also live on Sjælland with my parents but in the danish capital, Copenhagen. My family consist of myself, my mother, father and little brother. I love spending time with them especially my little brother, who is my best friend!

I would define myself as a person who reflects a lot. I think about everything, sometimes too much! But other than that i would say i am a very loving person and feel deeply for those around me. 

I am mostly danish, also 25% norwegian but i’ve lived in Denmark my whole life. When i grow up i would like to do something creative, like writing songs or novels or singing and playing music.

At the moment I live partly in a city called Hillerød and partly at the school. 
You see, the school is not just any regular school. 
It is a type of boarding school, where we live with each other, and our teachers. 
This also means that we have a much closer, and I dare say better, relationship with our teachers than in any regular school.

We are also focused on personal development and preparation for life, so we learn a lot of things you do not typically learn, such as body and mind studies, self-reflection, taxes and being creative in many different media.

The school is music oriented, which means the students all connect on another level. We are all interested in music, and we regularly play in bands, produce, and sing together. 

Personally I chose the school because I heard so many good things about it from my friends at my previous music school. Originally I did not want to go to a boarding school, but I am so happy I changed my mind. 
I think I have evolved as a person, and see the world in different colors.

I grew up in a very music oriented household. My mother dearest is a music teacher, and my father and sister have both played on and off. We are all very interested in music, and my father and I often exchange music and new artists we come across.

I also love traveling, drawing and animals and have a dog of my own. Her name is Molly and I love her very dearly.

When I have to start working I would love to do something creative such as singing, writing or playing music.
