I think that the pipeline should be in this country to help our rising oil prices go down and to help our economy thrive. Although the natives may be harmed potentially the benefits far outweigh the negatives and the pipeline is a great way to help our natural resources go to a good use.

The indigenous youth of the area got involved in the pipeline debate due to the concern of their drinking water being contaminated by a potential burst. This issue is important because it could affect the daily lives of many innocent people. These people used social media as a source to get their ideas out to many other people. The problem with this is that many of the lawmakers who make the final decision on the pipeline are not very familiar with social media and do not see the benefits of the platform.

The Obama Administration was against the pipeline due to their beliefs that they pipeline would be very catastrophic. meanwhile the Trump Administration sees the pipeline as a large economic potential to boost the economy. Both administrations have very strong opinions and good reasons to back their opinions up. These strong and split opinions are caused by differing political parties.

Based on information from the multiple sources the main winner if the pipeline would be the countrys' economy and the business' who make the pipeline. The Native Americans would be affected by the pipeline running through their sacred land. The pipeline would potentially help make the economy more self sufficient and lower the prices of oil products. The pipeline would serve as a major economic accomplishment for the presidents history as well. Also the pipeline would cut into Native Americans land and potentially harm the natural environment.

The Dakota pipeline which was developed by Energy Transfer Partners would connect some of the Americas riches oil reserves to Illinois to be transported to refineries elsewhere in the country.

The Dakota access pipeline is a crude oil line that would pass through 4 states and greatly impact the economy and eventually make the country more self sufficient. The pipeline would cut into Native American land and harm their sacred natural land and that has caused a large debate on the topic.
