Given the statistics shown on the graph it is clear that the younger generation, ranging from 16-24 year olds, is especially keen on Twitter which could be due to the simplicity of it as it allows them to send out quick/short messages very easily.

However, this cannot be said for Facebook since the app focuses more on spamming people with ads, making it become very frustrating and creates a negative spotlight on the app. Although, the older generation, ranging from 55-64 year olds, find that it is one of the best apps to use. However, this could be due to the fact that they do not know much about technology at that age so they are inexperienced to even know what the term 'banner blindness' is, making them vulnerable to the app's intentions.

We can also see that people who are aged 25-34 prefer more social and I guess a bit more complicated media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube because it gives them more to look at and work with in so many ways (choices).

One reason for the relationship between age with these specific social networking sites is because is due to the fact that millennials show a stronger tendency towards image-led social medias since it entertains and keeps us updated with what is going on with our friendship groups or simply what is happening in the world. This makes the younger generation a bit more educated and experienced than the older generation since we are more engaged and were brought up with the technology.

Firstly, the majority of people using Facebook is people aged 25-34 whereas the majority of people using twitter is people ages of 16-24 I believe that is because Facebook came around in 2004 and was quickly one of the most used social networking sites in the world meaning people old enough to use it would have already been 13+ years old and it was when technology and social networking was becoming a bigger thing in the days and twitter started in 2006 where more and more off generation Z were being born meaning that in years too come platforms like twitter were going to be used by them more than Facebook who were overpopulated with older people. 

Facebook is the only one that people ages of 16-24 do not overrule the other ages as YouTube, instagram and twitter have a much more younger influence. This could be for many reason such as Facebook is “what our mums and grandparents use” and instagram is heavily based on influencers who share there day to day life attracting way more younger people more than it would attract the older people. 

There seems to be a stereotype in the modern day that younger people such as tweens, teenagers, and young adults live there lives around social medias. 

Functionalists believe social media is seen as productive and allows people to increase there interactions and information so that all parts of society can function properly together

Allowing us to see that older people are believing that a lot of these crimes are because younger people are playing these violent games. Furthermore in the second graph we can see that it’s much more even all over with that a lot of people believe it is more like a release for all of this aggression and violence causing them to be less violent in real life on oppose to the game. A lot of violence and crimes in real life from youths isn’t only down to what games people are playing on there computers.
