My favourite book is "Where rainbows end". I would say that this book is rather for teen-agers.
Notes, letters, emails... It turns out that the whole life can be put into them. Moreover, they can retell the story and can reveal the soul, feelings and mind of each person even better than the best narrator. In this book you will not find any traditional story written in long sentences in each line. The author gave this book, by everyones surprise, in e-mail style. She wrote a book like the collection of mails from the childhood up to adult life. No-one could really imagine that such kind of novel might exist.
Everyone, who reads this book, can experience the whole characters' lifes. The main reason of this is that the novel discloses and tells us so familiar topic such as: friendship - this line continues through the whole book, from simple innocent feelings up to real problems; love - how teen-agers have their relationships between each other, how do they feel, what's going on in the adulthood and how to behave mature; relationships between parents and children - it gaves good opportunity to look at your own interrelation with family from a different angle.Based on all mentioned above, I strongly advise you to read this book. No matter who you are, teenager or adult, everyone will find something native.
By Diana Vovk, student of PNPU

"The ugly duckling" by Hans Christian Andersen.
I love it, because after reading this story for the first time in my life as a child, I made a cautionary moral, that appearance is not the main thing.
No one liked the duckling, everyone called it ugly, not realizing that it was not a duckling at all, but a Swan. They forced their opinions on him, and he suffered from it. But at the end of the story, he grew up, became a beautiful Swan, and found his family. This fairy tale is an instructive lesson for everyone who laughs at others.

Tetyana Ivanova, student of the group GP-47
Faculty of Philology and Journalism

My favorite book is" The Jungle Book " by G. Kipling. This collection of short stories fascinates and falls in love with each new page. The book is very interesting and fascinating, especially for children. I'm a big fan of fantasy and adventure, so I like absolutely everything about "The Jungle Book ". Even now I remember with trepidation all my experiences for Mowgli, Baloo, and Bagheera. Therefore, I recommend that each of you read the "The Jungle Book ". I hope that this wonderful work will please you as well.

The book first came into my hands when I was a teenager and I liked it immensely. I read all the novels in one breath. All books are interesting and exciting. Each of the novels is full of vivid descriptions and adventures of the characters. Even today, as I`m a 4th year student, I remain a Harry Potter fan.

One of the favorite childhood stories and one of the first self-read. After reading, I went with my mother to performances with Peppy and dressed up for her on school holidays - the heroine was so great liked. No wonder Peppy has everything a child can dream of.

This naughty girl will be envied even by an adult! A unique, eccentric person who lives all alone (well, as one, with Mr. Nielson and a horse, of course), does crazy things, causes bewilderment and fear among adults and envy among peers. Peppy at the age of nine knows how to cook, care for animals, wash floors and has unprecedented physical strength - these qualities help her to do without adults and live happily ever after. At the same time, behind the image of a unique brave girl lies a kind and responsive nature, who, albeit in her own way, but always ready to help.

Insanely positive story, filled with adventure and the same bright sunny mood, like Peppy herself, is close to both adults and children.
FD-48 Tkachenko K.

As a child, I loved Lewis Carroll's book «Alice's Adventures in Wonderland». It tells the story of a girl named Alice. This story aroused only positive emotions for me, because Alice, when she got to the rabbit hole, kept increasing and decreasing. Various miracles happened to her.
When I read this book, I imagined myself in that girl's place, as if all the events had happened to me. I was fascinated by the fact that everything in the work happens according to the laws of fiction, so all objects, characters, space and even time acquire unusual properties. In the fairy tale many nonsense.
Many situations and characters in «Alice's Adventures in Wonderland» - the generation of pun and linguistic jokes. It is difficult to translate because of this word game, but our translators have done a great job.
Fantastic literature makes our mind more flexible, creative and capable of quicker acceptance of new ideas.
So, if your mind needs a fresh jet, spend the evening reading «Alice's Adventures in Wonderland». I highly recommend this book to read.
Daryna Zelenska, IN-46

My favourite children's book is «The Adventures of Tom Sawyer» by Mark Twain.

Tom Sawyer is a regular guy. Such as can be found in every yard, on every street or in every classroom. Tom is smart and resourceful. He just has nowhere to put his energy in a gray and dull country town. I am attracted to the protagonist's independence and ability to fantasize, find interesting adventures.

Tom Sawyer has many adventures, including dangerous ones. But he, along with his friend Huck, is proud to come out of all dangerous situations, to show his best qualities, though it causes a lot of care for his loved ones.

So, Mark Twain vividly and convincingly showed the childhood world of American boys, who had to face not only their own, children's problems, but also the cruelty and injustice of the adult world. Readers believe that Tom Sawyer will grow up to be a good man and a decent citizen, no matter what.

The book is very exciting and over the years does not lose its relevance.

Zelenska Daryna, In-46

I still remember that time. I was on winter holidays, the internet access was awful so I decided to grab a book and a cup of cococa to spend some good time reading. But the book grabbed "me" - I read everything at once.
The most exciting thing was to find out that everyone even young children has an animal. The animal are "magical" creatures that constantly accompany, aid and comfort their humans. I thought it would be great to have such a friend and spend life together.
I highly recommend everyone to read it.

My favourite book is "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway. This story is one of the well-known works of the writer. The author depicts the characters of the old man and the boy and their relations very vividly and skillfully. Santiago, the old man, was one of the writer's beloved characters. The old man was a born fisherman, but he was not a butcher and fished only for a living. He was very lonely. He had a devoted friend - the boy, Manolin. The boy loved the old man for his kind heart, his devotion to the sea. Manolin was like a son to Santiago. He took care of the old man's food and his belongings. The old man was glad to pass his experience to the boy. He looked forward to going to the sea together with the boy. All Santiago's life had been in preparation for the battle with big fish. He knew that he had been born for this and it was time to prove it. A strong man at last had met a strong fish. The battle was a difficult one and full of danger. Though the sharks had eaten the fish and nothing had left but the backbone, the old man had morally won the battle. Santiago's words "man can be destroyed but not defeated" are the main idea of this story. "The Old Man and the Sea" is a masterpiece for its imaginative language and the description of nature.
GF-47
Naumenko Anna

There’s also a lot of mathematical and linguistic jokes and allusions. The reader should explore a continuation of this fascinating story called «Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There». My advice to read it and enjoy the journey to fairy tale. Romanenko Yelizaveta, student of the group Fd-38 Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

One of my favourite children's book is "Charlotte's Web" by E. B. White. I never thought I’d like a book about a spider but this one’s an exception.
Charlotte’s Web tells the story of friendship between an unlikely pair – a pig and a spider. Yes, it sounds weird but it’s lovely. It’s a simple story but it teaches us about love, life and death. If you haven’t read it, give it a try. It is a classic after all. A book that children can fall in love with. There is such affection and humour in this story and the characters are so well written, including not so loveable rogue Templeton the rat but it is Charlotte you can’t help but love and admire. It shows children what true friendship is and that nothing else is quite as important as the love and loyalty of a best friend.
І hope, you enjoy it!
Krainiuk Yuliia, (Ін(а/с)-46)

My favourite children's book is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by J. K. Rowling". There is an interesting fact, that the book reached the top of the New York Times list of best-selling fiction in August 1999 and stayed near the top of that list for much of 1999 and 2000. But I am fond of this story not because of being famous, but because of its originality and an incredibly memorable storyline. I think, this book can draw the attention of both young children and adolescents. The story tells about a little boy who gets to know he is a wizard and goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Every page of this book is full of gripping adventures and magic described in detail. The story of Harry Potter teaches children what a real friendship is, it explains the importance of honesty and love. I advise everyone, who has not get acquainted with Harry Potter yet, to discover the world of Hogwarts and enjoy it! Malichenko Viktoriia, Fd-38 Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

I love fairy-tales very much. They take me to the world of magic and adventure, fairies and glorious princesses. I think I like all of them but my favourite one is “Cinderella”. This beautiful story was written by Charles Perrault in 1697. When I was a baby my parents often read it to me before going to bed. Now I can read it myself and there are also cartoons and movies named “Cinderella”.
Once upon a time there was a sweet little girl whose name was Cinderella. She had a very kind and gentle heart. Her mother died, so she lived with a wicked stepmother and her terrible ugly daughters. Poor girl was very unhappy because they made her work hard all days long.
But one day Cinderella’s fairy godmother made her dream come true: she helped the girl to go to a royal ball. Godmother turned a pumpkin into a magical coach, six mice – into six horses and the girl’s old dress – into a fabulous gown. At the ball the Prince fell in love with Cinderella and danced with her all the evening, but the beautiful girl had to leave the ball and come back home before midnight. So she ran down the steps of the palace and lost her tiny shoe. That lucky shoe helped the Prince to find Cinderella in his kingdom.
And, of course, my favourite fairy-tale, like all others, has a happy end. The Prince married Cinderella and they lived happily ever after... And I think that this wonderful story will live in my heart forever because it reminds me that our dreams always come true.

By Abdu Lina Fd-47
