My name is Arshad and I am curnely undertaking an MRes course, in the faculty of Medicine and health sciences.
this course intrests me as it combines online with face-to-face learning. furthermore , due to covid, many people did realise that online learning is more convinent for them as they dont have to travel to study. hence blended learning offers the student he opportunity to learn in a more flexible and personalized way, tailered towards them, and it allwos both the sudents and teachers to have a more flexble learning schedual, ease of access while also helpping them to acheice their academic goals.

- Apologies for the delay in posting, I have just recovered from having COVID last week so catching up on the moodle course that I missed.
I am Alison Tidy, a postdoctoral researcher from Plant and Crop Science in the Faculty of Science. I teach a few lectures and since COVID I have noticed that the majority of students are prefering to watch the videos at a later date rather than attend the lecture session, I am hoping that through blended learning, I can capture these students and engage with them as well as I do with those in classes (an example of this is that we work through papers together and discuss, but there is no interaction available for those who are just watching the recording).

My name is Sean Shields, a PhD student in Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts at Nottingham. I’m keen to take this course as it seems clear that to deliver blended learning is going to become ever more important. I have already done a little bit of teaching which involved taking a blended approach, but I am sure I have lots to learn!

I am still not sure if I will pursue an academic career - but I think developing this knowledge and expertise in effective teaching practice will be very valuable either way. (I am also aiming to apply for HEA Associate Fellowship accreditation and am hopeful I can incorporate some of the learning from this course in my application).

Hello everyone!

I am Daniel Kayley, a part-time PhD research student in my fourth year in the Theology and Religious department. I have been an associate tutor for the University of Chester and have been involved in teaching and training for over twenty years. I aspire to launch an online learning platform offering the opportunity for those with no or little academic background to explore and deepen their knowledge of the Bible as history and theology, as well as its social and political impact nationally and internationally. The course will benefit me as someone who has taught in HE contexts and is currently involved in delivering training. Whether I continue in that role or not, the knowledge gained from the course will be beneficial in its own right. I value the time and effort of those who have put this course together so that I can participate. Thank you!

I've been asked to contribute to an online module this academic year, which is what prompted me to sign up for the course, but more generally I believe that the transmission of knowledge is an important skill to develop, whatever my future career may be.

My name is Mariam Adams. I have 20 years experience in tutoring and completed my School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) on Royal Society of Chemistry Scholarship in Secondary School Science where I utilised Kerboodle to implement flipped learning.

As Kerboodle was a complete learning platform, I have attended Xerte training with the hope of learning how to create my learning interfaces for asynchronous learning of Immunology. This course on blended learning in Higher Education, a space I look forward to transitioning into, is thus particularly beneficial in helping me achieve my aforementioned goals.

My name is Jessica Sanchez and I'm a 2nd year PhD student in Creative Writing and Human Geography. I'm an international student, and as such, plan on teaching inter-continental-ly throughout my career, which will undoubtedly call for blended learning. As someone whose interests are very cross/interdisciplinary, it'll be interesting to see how blended learning can be effective for students that may be on a similar trajectory re: subject matter.
