- If consumers are charged for the single-use plastics they now get (mostly) for free, they may be more inclined to use reusables because the small charges may amount to a significant amount

- If the charge is applied everywhere, rather than just some shops, consumers would develop a habit of using reusables instead, because they would need them.

- It should be noted where there are exceptions, such as wrappers for burgers where there isn't really a feasible alternative at present.

- Single-use plastics are convenient, so this change might be difficult for consumers to adapt to. However, it is ultimately for a great good, so this difficulty is not too big a problem.
