Simone was born in the state of Ohio, United States, on 14 March 1997 and began her gymnastics journey at the age of six. At the 2024 Olympic Games, she became the most decorated US Olympic gymnast of all time with a total of 11 Olympic medals. At the 2020 Olympics, Biles withdrew from the women's team final, and she later expressed the need to protect her mental wellbeing. Biles suffered from a mental block that caused her to lose herself in the air whenever she attempted a twist. In such a dangerous sport, she risked serious injury if she tried to push through. Her decision sparked a global conversation around mental health in sports. In an interview Simone mentioned “In the beginning, I think the hardest part is logging on to my therapy sessions and convincing myself to go,” “But as soon as I see my therapist and we start talking, it’s like I’m yapping the whole time. I’m so grateful for that.”

In 2021, Simone testified before the US Senate about the abuse she suffered at the hands of former team doctor Larry Nassar. In her testimony, she said, "I blame Larry Nasser, and I also blame an entire system that enabled and perpetrated his abuse", "When you allow a predator to harm children, the consequences are swift and severe".
Source: www.today.com, www.olympics.com,www.theguardian.com

1.

Sophia Jex Blake was from Sussex and was part of the group of first women to enter medical school. They faced great challenges which included aggressive male students when she went to do an exam, in what became known as the Surgeons Hall Riot. Despite undertaking their undergrads, they were never awarded their degrees. She went on to open her own medical school in London and created a scholarship fund for Indian Women to be trained. In addition to this, it was believed she was a gay woman.

https://beta.nationalarchives.gov.uk/explore-the-collection/stories/sophia-jex-blake/

1.
Jin Xing

Jin Xing is a Chinese dancer, choreographer, and actress. She is also known as one of the few transgender public figures in China.

Jin Xing was once the most successful dancer in China, and then obtained the rank of the main camp. She gained a reputation in the United States. The New York Times once called her "a Chinese genius". She trained dancers in Brussels and Rome, and then returned to China for sex reassignment surgery. As a woman, she engaged in her own dance career, set up the first rivate ballet company in China, ran a bar in Beijing, and married a German businessman.

As China’s first — and even today, only — major transgender celebrity, Ms. Jin is in many ways regarded as a progressive icon. She underwent transition surgery in 1995, the first person in the country to do so openly. She went on to host one of China’s most popular talk shows, even as stigmas against L.G.B.T.Q. people remained — and still remain — widespread. China’s best-known personalities appeared on her program, “The Jin Xing Show.”

According to the report, in conservative Chinese society, even homosexuality is not recognized by many people, let alone transgender. It seems that her life experience will definitely be excluded from the mainstream media in China. However, Jinxing, who is 49 years old this year, is a very popular song and dance show judge in China, and also has her own Venus show.

1.
