I have a Japanese friend I met in college. We happened to find out that five out of six of our classes overlapped in one semester, and that’s how we became really close friends. I’ve always been interested in Japanese culture and customs, and having a Japanese friend made it even more exciting. We traveled together often, and I showed her around my country. Thanks to her, my Japanese skills improved so much!

My uncle is British. When he was first introduced by my aunt, I was surprised by his unique English accent. It was fascinating to realize that English can sound so different depending on the country. Every holiday, my uncle shares British cultural traditions with me. I especially enjoy the 4 o'clock tea time he loves. Sitting with him, having delicious cookies and tea, makes me feel like an adult.
