Instead they'll be left injured through military means, if the country can't benefit from imperialism as a whole country then why should we have it? But if we do take over countries that is ill-governed then we'd just be starting another Word War, and besides we don't need to rely on war and imperialism to get supplies from other countries. It is our god given right to help those who cannot help theirself. We are taking their land to help protect those who can't understand the way of the world and our god. If England, Germany and all the other major powers are expanding, how can we just sit here and watch. As they get stronger we get left in the dust debating on if we should do what's right and expand, or do nothing and wait till we get overtaken. We will spread markets across the world to show others our wealth, our power and how strong our justice is. This will let others know that we are not to be messed with. Industries will flourish if we take action and take over other countries. Money will increase and more and more businesses will become of this. The armed forces will grow and be better equipped. Once you own a country you must protect it and it's people. The United States of America was built on the idea of Jefferson that democracy is "extended to our country for other reasons is not in our constitution." Canada is north of the U.S. and they share our ideas and beliefs much more then other nations or places for U.S. expansion. To have a strong navy will influence people in two ways peace and war, peace will favor the natural growth of American people's industries and war will be felt and the government will be felt in its most legitimate manner in maintain an army. We must help and govern those who are not capable of self-government, we govern the Indians without consent, we governed our territory without consent and we govern our children without consent.
