Wood – Quite strong. Good for small things like benches or climbing frames.

Steel – Super strong! Can hold very heavy stuff.

Aluminium – Strong but also light, so it’s easy to carry.

Concrete – Really strong for holding up buildings.

Plastic (recycled) – Strong enough for panels but not as strong as metal.

Rubber (recycled) – Not very strong, more for soft floors.

Wood – Lasts a long time if you protect it from bugs and rain.

Steel – Lasts for years and doesn’t break easily.

Aluminium – Doesn’t rust, so it stays good for a long time.

Concrete – Stays strong for many, many years with little care.

Plastic (recycled) – Doesn’t rot or rust, good for outdoors.

Rubber (recycled) – Bouncy and stays good even in the sun and rain.

Wood – Good for the planet if the trees are replaced when cut down.

Steel – Takes a lot of energy to make but we can recycle it.

Aluminium – Also needs lots of energy but can be fully recycled.

Concrete – Making it gives out lots of carbon; hard to reuse.

Plastic (recycled) – Better if it’s made from old plastic, otherwise it can pollute.

Rubber (recycled) – Good because it reuses old tyres instead of throwing them away.
