I really like the bear imagery. It's loving and angry. I think it's used well in the piece. In that, we get the allusion to an overbearing (lol) parent. I really liked "A dynasty of cubs." We can feel both the love and a maybe a cycle of anger there.
I really like it. But I think thought at the beginning takes away some ot the tension

I really love this poem, how it starts with a landscape but reflects the nature of the narrator, their thoughts, through the anthopomorphism of the bear. The line “Battered, bruised, pushed down, but her fault. Her fault” was absolutely striking and the echo was incredible and kind of drove home the internalization. My main question is about the first line- “we thought it was a bear track” suggests it’s not? I love the mystery implied though.

I like how the focus switched from you to the bear, talking about how you feel frightened but protected and then switching to what you need to be protected from. My interpretation is that it was about a parent who had kids young, " A life of young love, with cubs by her side."
