In May of 1789, King Louis XVI requested that the deputies from the three estates would come to a meeting in Versailles hall. This was the first meeting in 175 years for the estate generals. He called the meeting because the French government was having financial problems. The third estate formed into the National Assembly. They then convinced the first and second estate to turn on the king and go against him for they all realized what an awful leader he was.

It started when mobs of people stormed into Bastille to steal ammo, weapons and gun powder. Eventually the people were able to over run Bastille and the king got over whelmed and the power fell to the people. This was a big symbolic act of revolution, because the people then realized the power they gained and the power they could continue to gain.
