I was interested in the students in the city because their lives are much different than mine. I  feel bad that they have many more obstacles than I do and I wish that it was easier for them to graduate high school and follow their dreams. I also enjoyed seeing how she reacted to the students when they were rude or had something to tell her that could be on a wide range of subjects. When one of the students told her that she is pregnant it shows how some of the students look to their teachers at the school for guidance.

I also found it interesting that your character in the book didn't understand a lot of the student's slang, yet you had to write the dialogue for those students in a realistic way, so it made me wonder if that was actually how they spoke in real life or if you were unable to fully capture the details of their dialects.
