Dreams are strange, ethereal things that we really don't understand. We talked about a number of different dream theories in class ranging from the strange, fascinating and largely unscientific (Freud) to the more scientific but, probably, less satisfying (biological theories). Here we'll focus on the Freudian since it gives us more to do. I want you to describe a dream you've had, and then, using your understanding of manifest and latent content (symbols) give me your best Freudian interpretation of the dream. Feel free to google the meaning of various symbols from a psychoanalytical perspective. Given the admittedly "fuzzy" nature of this assignment, grading will be based largely on displayed effort--if it feels rushed, it will receive a lower grade. Provide me with details, details, details. Proceed!
