Windows live mail keeps its users safe from any sort of security threat. That’s why it blocks email attachments which fall under Suspicious or Prohibited file type. You should avoid such attachment and Windows live also blocks such mail. When you are so sure about such files you can enable the downloading or you can disable blocking of such emails. Simply go to Windows Live Mail > Home tab > Junk > Safety options > Security > Virus protection - clear the check box next to Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus, and then click OK.
