·   Products coming from Asia usually take around 6 weeks to get to the UK 

·  There are 300 factories in Asia that help produce over 5,000 products for Wilko’s

· 18 to 20 containers will be filled with products

·   There are only two distribution centres within the UK/Europe (Worksop, Notts and Magor, Monmouthshire – Wales.

·  One fresh product Wilkinson’s has is their Fresh to go sandwiches which come into to store weekly (every Sunday)

   
The UK/Europe distribution centres have:

·The Goods Inwards Team – stock is received and checked from external supplier, then goes to warehouse.

· The Picking Team – this team gets each and every product ready for delivery from the distribution centre to store.

· Goods and Outwards Dispatch Team – stock comes from the picking department which gets loaded onto Lorries, leaves the warehouse to then get shipped to various wilko’s stores.

·  Senior Operatives – manage daily running's of the department and ensures every task is done to the highest quality; they also ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.

· Drivers – initially receive training to move products from place to place.

· Stock Control – goods are checked, scanned and allocated in their correct bays. 

·  Quality Assurance – this team ensure products reach shelves in perfect condition.

·  Planning Team – responsible for allocating workloads, performing workload forecasts, and helping to co-ordinate new stores opening.

·  Recycling Team – ensure goods are recycled properly; helps the environment and enables Wilko’s to earn money from recycling.
