One memorable Halloween experience I had was when I was younger and had to come up with a homemade costume for a school contest. My dad ended up helping me out and my costume was an "ofrenda" where I wore the table as a costume and had all sorts of fake food on it and my head was on the center plate where it looked like I was a beheaded and served on a plate. We went all out with decorations, fake blood, all the works. I did end up winning the school concert but I remember it was way more fun when people would ask me what I was and I would drop the table to the ground, tilt my head and stick out my tongue. Overall it was a great experience and makes for a wonderful memory.

I remember that when I was in primary school, around first or second grade, on Halloween, a friend of mine, who became my best friend, his mom used to do this party at his house, so we all arrived customized and a little time after, we went out to ask for candies at different houses, you know, the typical "treat or trick", but, why this steel on my memory, it is because we went up to the room of my friend and all the friends that we were there divide into two teams, and then we started to play American Gladiators because it was a famous TV show that we used to watch each one at our houses.

My birthday is on October 18, a date close to Halloween and Day of the Dead celebrations. Well, a few years ago, there was an amusement park called Atix Park, where I once celebrated my birthday.

The park started the celebrations early, so, unexpectedly, my birthday turned into a costume and cheap candy party. I remember participating several times in the Maze, where you had to search for certain letters and complete words. But since it was Halloween, the park took advantage and had staff members dressed up trying to chase and scare us, and they did a great job.

I remember the fun and laughter I had with my friends that day. There was even a classmate whom a staff member grabbed by the ankle and scared quite a bit.

It was a good birthday.
