He had a successful career as a reporter in New York, Stephens also wrote a book called <em>The Shame of the Cities. </em>Lincoln was a muckraker. He investigated the corruption of politics and how politicians won elections by bribing and threatening many voters. He was trying to fix that corruption of American politics. Stephens was exposing the politicians by making many articles to show the citizens of America how these politicians were actually operating.</div>]]></description>

One of Norris' most notable books, "The Octopus", focused on the struggle wheat growers had against intruding railroad companies. The next two books &nbsp;in the trilogy focused on&nbsp;dealing on the economic problems caused by the monopolistic government.</div>]]></description>

She once traveled 72 days for an expose. She died at 57. <br><br>Nellie was a reporter for the New York News and worked to expose many problems. One of her earliest works was a piece describing the conditions inside an asylum after she had posed as a mental person for ten days.The piece shed light on a number of disturbing conditions at the facility, including neglect and physical abuse, and ultimately spurred a large-scale investigation of the institution as well as much-needed improvements in health care. She worked on National Americanization day being held on July 4th 1915 and over 150 cities supported her. She wrote a book called "Immigration and the Future" in 1920 which discussed how the views of immigration have changed over time and that immigrants have a large impact on investment and business.</div>]]></description>
