Thou shalt not snoop around in other people’s computer files.
Thou shalt not use a computer to steal.
Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness.
Thou shalt not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid.
Thou shalt not use other people’s computer resources without authorization or proper compensation.
Thou shalt not appropriate other people’s intellectual output.
Thou shalt think about the social consequences of the program you write or the system you design.
Thou shalt always use a computer in ways that show consideration and respect for your fellow humans.

I believe this is the main Commandment that is violated because many people often pirate a lot of websites, or find illegal websites to watch sports and even movies. This is my number one choice because it is something that many people do without even noticing sometimes.

I believe this is also a Commandment that is violated most often by students, especially in younger students because of the access to technology. People may use computers to spread misinformation or rumors against others or an organization, which is extremely unethical.

People often pirate sports events and movies because of the cost of cable and streaming services. These programs can be very expensive, and they are easy to do.

Students often face many stressors during school. These include deadlines, heavy workload, and even fear of failing. This can lead to students plagiarizing and cheating to ease their workload.

To help reduce unethical behavior, schools can provide student accounts, where programs are free. Doing so will decrease unethical behavior among students, as they no longer have to worry about costs, leading to them having to pirate.

2. Strengthen Computer Ethics Education

By increasing education about computer ethics, there will be less unethical behaviors. If people genuinely know the consequences of hacking, cheating, and plagiarizing, they will remember that it can be them. Ethics should be a part of the course, not just a one-time lecture.
