I had a difficult time getting the mini-game to work. However it can be a tricky difference between using technology and integrating it. I like to think that using technology means it is a tool that you use to get a job or assignment done, most often an after-thought, or used to deliver information. However, integrating it means that you are constructing and building their knowledge, the students are using it more than the teacher, and it is planned out. I found this great chart that helps decipher the two.
https://teachbytes.com/2013/03/29/whats-the-difference-between-using-technology-and-technology-integration/

What a fun game! I've used ClassTools.net before for other things. Good to see it still is a strong too. I did have to refresh my page in order for the game to work, though.

In another technology class I recently took, we talked about SAMR: http://www.schrockguide.net/samr.html It's a great continuum, or scale, to help determine the effectiveness of technology integration. The idea is that tech should be a tool to transform and redefine the learning experience. I definitely agree with the sorting activity that if it takes you longer to do something with tech, it may not be the best way. (Now, teaching tech to primary students does take a long time, and it still is necessary! Just think about keyboarding instruction... Oh, boy!)

I thought that was a fun game (I had to play it twice to get it to work correctly).

The major difference I see between technology integration and use is that using technology simply means pulling out a device and using it (a means to an end) while technology integration means taking that same device and finding a way to build knowledge, solve a problem or enhance a learning experience.

Teachers must make a plan for technology integration in order for technology to be melded into the curriculum effectively. Technology use, however, happens organically.

Using technology for learning makes sense. Technology creates access, transparency, and opportunity. Any smartphone or tablet is media incarnate–video, animation, eBooks, essays, blog posts, messages, music, games. The modalities of light, color, and sound all arranged just so to communicate a message or create an experience. But there is a difference, between using technology and integrating it deeply into the learning experiences of students. Teachers often use technology in the classroom. However, the goal is not only for teachers to use technology but also to integrate or incorporate technology in teaching. By using modern devices and online learning tools, some teachers think that they are already successful with technology integration, but in reality, they are only using technology to teach students but not to engage them entirely with what they are teaching. Thus, it is important for all teachers to understand the differences between technology use and technology integration

Integrating technology is different than using it. Integrating technology process is choosing the right tools and design them for the best outcome using it in the classroom. To be able to do this, teachers need to have enough knowledge of technology as NETS-T-2 refers.
