I read some sort of poetry every day, whether it be music or something online or in a book. Poetry in my eyes makes life interesting and easier. My most popular form of poetry is music. Poetry is very strong in music. Without music/poetry I feel as if life would be very bland and plain. I love life with poetry and can't imagine a life without it. The message of this poem is that a human needs poetry for the soul and heart to keep beating, which I agree with and stand for.

"We wear the mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks and shades our eyes." With poetry he is able to express his emotion and true feelings. It's an escape route for him to tell the rest of the world about how he feels, and to record history. "We smile, but, O great christ, our cries to thee from tortured souls arise." Poetry in my eyes gave him light, and brightness in his days. It gave him an opportunity to get all his thoughts out

"For when that milk is mixed with blood and the tragic story's told, crying is all I think of doing." In this case; poetry is used to get a story out. It's an odd way, and written very tricky for the reader to connect to but this poem is very strong relating to my main quote. Poetry allowed Reggie to get an important/knowledgable story off his chest. Poetry is an alternative, and lets the writer/reader/listener the opportunity to forget about the bad situations the person might be in.

I believe that poetry is used mostly for an escape or route to take when depression decides to slip into one's life. "Wildly he crashes through elephant ears, pleads in dusty zinnias, while she in spite of crippling fat pursues and corners him." Poetry eases the brain and heart. In this case for Robert to put his thoughts on paper of what he saw or experienced has to make him feel better about himself; almost like an accomplishment. Whether people admit it or not, we use poetry everyday and I believe it truly helps the beating heart.

"Lose something every day, accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent, the art of losing isn't hard to master." She is able to connect through poetry, and even through the rough times she might be going through poetry helped her escape the harsh realities. Some prefer to write/read as others prefer to listen. Poetry helps our soul in many ways shapes, and forms.

This is a very strong poem that allows us to visualize what Theodore was experiencing. "The hand that held my wrist was battered on one knuckle; at every step you missed my right ear scraped a buckle." This is obviously a very touching topic for the writer, and I do believe poetry is helping him. It helps us all, and in this case he was able to discuss his troubled childhood in a manner that is so knowledgable and touching. He is a mastermind for this poem, and he is influencing others through his work, and feeling his own light Poetry is an escape route, and allows us to dwell on life for a minute.

Poetry is so powerful, and I believe that she wrote this to give others her thoughts on the country and move. "Beneath the touch of Time's unerring hand. Like priceless treasure's sinking in the sand." America is brave, and she expresses all her feelings and spills it out on the page. I don't know if there is a better way to show people how extraordinary perfectly complicated the mind is. Poetry brings out the full potential of the brain.

Poetry is usually used when death is present. It allows the soul to feel exactly what you are currently feeling. One of the reasons I appreciate poetry is that it is the ultimate escape route, (other than basketball) and I constantly turn to it. "He was my North, my South, my East, my West, my working week and my Sunday rest, my noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong." Funeral Blues is the prime example of poetry giving someone the time to just forget, and to almost enter a new world, and put all of your feelings on paper. I can't picture life without it.

"I thought hard for us all - my only swerving - then pushed her over the edge into the river." When humans have a hard time expressing their feelings most usually turn to poetry or a form of it. Robert is telling the readers about two different paths in which he could take, and he chose the less traveled path. Poetry is one of the most artistic ways to get your messages across. It paints a picture in my head in which I can visualize and relate too. "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
