Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, a dragon named Gary lived in a volcano that had not erupted since the witch accidentally sealed it with a sneeze. Gary had been living there for years, peacefully baking marshmallows on lava rocks. Unlike most dragons, Gary hated spicy food, which was very inconvenient, since everything in a volcano was spicy.

One day, while Gary was picking wild daisies (he was into aromatherapy), a prince rode by on a glittery horse named Jeff. The prince had been searching for a brave quest to impress a girl named Lola, who had once told him, “Don’t talk to me until you’ve fought a dragon.”

The prince had never fought anything before, except a mild head cold. But he had trained for a whole week by wrestling a goose, so he felt prepared.

While Gary was sniffing a particularly fragrant daisy, the prince charged in shouting, “DRAGON, PREPARE FOR BATTLE!”

Startled, Gary sneezed, and accidentally set his flower crown on fire. “What the heck, man?” he shouted, flapping his wings to put it out.

Meanwhile, Lola, who had been watching from behind a tree with her best friend—the good fairy—was giggling uncontrollably. The fairy, who had just finished casting a spell to turn a toad into a pizza (long story), waved her wand and turned the prince’s sword into a spoon.

The prince, confused but still committed, charged again, waving the spoon like a champion of soup.

Suddenly, the witch, who had been hiding in the volcano all this time, emerged holding a chili pepper. “Who disturbed my lava spa?” she growled. She threw the pepper at Gary, who caught it by instinct.

Unfortunately, Gary had tried a chili once before and had been breathing fire uncontrollably for three weeks. So this time, he panicked, threw the chili into the air, and it landed in the prince’s mouth.

Now he was the one breathing fire.

The good fairy, trying to fix things, was casting a “Cooling Spell,” but accidentally turned the volcano into a giant ice cream cone. Everyone slipped, fell, and landed in a pool of vanilla.

By the end of the day, Gary had made three new friends, the prince had become mildly famous on TikTok for his “fire-breathing dance,” and Lola finally agreed to go on a date—with the dragon.

Because, as she later explained, “Anyone who wears a daisy crown and smells like marshmallows is my kind of guy.”
