From my point of view, of course digital native do exist, because as the statistics demonstrate that with technology developing, the children are likely to contact with Internet in their early age than other generation. And obviously, they have a good command of technology stuff and basically learn a lot from the Internet. For example, they can play well video game since they are in primary school, and some kids even when they are in kindergarten know how to use ipad or smart phone.

It is expressing themselves and interact with others properly,or can say digital literacy.
I think people who can be called digital natives should equipped with basic digital literacy and have the habit to use digital method to interact with this world.

I think there is a generation called digital natives, who grow up surrounded by digital products. But using some technologies in a course won't be very attracted for them or won't improve there learning motivation, since they are too familiar with many kinds of technology. The point to improve the learning is not about the technology, but the learning design.

By definition, digital natives refer to the generation who have been
“immersed in technology all their live, imbuing them with sophisticated
technical skills and learning preferences."I think digital natives exist but it only applies to certain countries and communities where technology is integrated in people's daily life at an earlier stage. For poor regions, population there is struggling to make a living days and nights, they can't afford to be educated, not even to mention utilizing technology.

According to the definition of digital natives, they are defined as "a group of people who were born or brought up during the age of digital technology and so familiar with computers and the Internet from an early age." However, in what age can account "early"? Actually, when I first saw the concept, digital natives, in my mind, they are those children who born after 2000 learning and using technology in all aspects of their life. But when I saw the words: in early age, I consider maybe I am also a digital native even I was born in 1994.
I learned computer skills from my parents and uncle around 5 year old. They are the beneficiaries of technology. They have gradually became digital natives already.

I agree with these features -- it is crystal clear that some of the young generation are born and grew up with technologies. However, are the other characteristics (e.g. preferring random access and games over work) truly exclusively applied to "digital natives" are up to debate.

Last year, I was a computer technology teacher intern in a local secondary school and a local elementary school. My students were from 4th grade to 9th grade. What's the difference between me and them? Well, I was surprised to see that some of my students not only just followed my instruction to draw a picture or write a program, but try to create or design something. When I, a computer technology teacher who was born in 1990s, still used a traditional way to teach them how to use a software step by step, my students already knew how to learn beyond my instruction. Not to mention they had already how to use a mobile phone, iPad or camera at a very young age. The new generation has the ability to know the world by using technology. Thus, digital natives do exist.
Our instructional methods are out-of-date, obviously. The problem is, how we change them. When I was young, Powerpoint was still a new thing. Teachers used it to attract students' attentions. But now, even if teachers want to try something new, students are more willing to watch their own mobile phone screen. We can say today's digital natives have multitask processing ability. We can also say they easily lack of concentration.

In my opinion, no matter it is called ’digital
natives’ by Prensky or ‘Net generation’ by Tapscott or ‘millenials’ by Howe and
Strauss, there still lacks the evidence to name a group called ‘digital
natives’. For example, you cannot call someone 'digital natives' if he
or she can only search for information or send messages to others but not be
able to collaborate with others and create online content.
