HOW TO SHAPE YOUR FACE IF IT ISN’T THE PERFECT OVAL

The perfect face shape is oval like an egg. So how do you get your face to be oval? Linda Bergerson says look in a mirror – imagine an oval and walk into it or even draw an oval on the mirror. Take note of every part of your face that is outside the oval. That is where we contour. Choose a shade of foundation or powder that is two shades darker than your normal one. Do NOT USE BLUSH FOR THIS. Blush belongs on cheeks not as a contour. Apply with a brush, a foundation brush if using liquid, and lightly apply to any area outside the oval like forehead, temples, cheeks and jawline. If you are older and/or have a jawline that’s heavy, take contour just under the jaw and blend downward into neck area. It’s not necessary to go too far down. If you contour you should offset with highlighter. Choose a shade two shades lighter than your normal color. Use above brow bone, top of cheeks, above the lip. If nose is small you may highlight but never down the nose or you will accent it like a ski run. Brush across instead.
