He tries to escape even though Hussain Khan is going to send him to the tomb. He's always trying to find a way to help all the kids escape and be with there family. Iqbal was brave enough to escape and get the police. He did all that to help his friends escape. In the book he said to Fatima " In spring we will fly a kite together". He has been trying to get them to believe him that child slavery is wrong. But when he was in the tomb after he escaped Maria made a kite on a rug so she was getting sent to the tomb, but salmon he said " send me to " so every one stated to said that. Then they were so loud that hussain didnt know what to do. So he took out Iqbal.
