I could apply Nietzsche's theory to my own life is his theory on christianity. Now as I don't agree with his view I think many people including myself follow it by living our lives one day at a day. Everyone that I know and have talked to say since they don't know what is promised for tomorrow they live the current day to the fullest and I like to think I do the same thing. This can be productive because you're doing as much as you can at your fullest potential everyday because you think its the right thing to do kind of like Nietzsches theory that we should focus on the here-n-now, not the “afterlife.

After learning about Nietzsche through our class readings and discussion, as well as through the linked videos included in the lectures as well, I believe that Nietzsche's theory of "Amor Fati" is one that I can productively apply to my own life. Nietzsche defines his theory of "Amor Fati" as "the love of fate" or "the love of one's fate". In other words, "Amor Fati" is the utter acceptance of everything that has happened in one's life. The person of "Amor Fati" doesn't wish to erase or change anything of their past, but instead they wish to accept the good and the bad, and to also accept and embrace their mistakes with open arms. I believe I can productively apply Nietzsche's theory to my own day-to-day life, by remembering to live in the present moment of each day, and to remember, that no one is perfect, and it is okay to make mistakes and to grow from them. Furthermore, as a college student, we all know that there will be good days and bad days, but it is important to remember to appreciate the little things in life, and cherish those around you who continue to love and support you.

Hunter, I completely agree with you that as human beings, it is integral to live in the moment of each and everyday. In my personal opinion, I believe Nietzsche is right, our primary focus should be on living life, and one should not concern himself too much over the afterlife, as you cannot necessarily control what happens in the afterlife, but you can control what happens to you in your day-to-day life.

Julia, I completely agree with you that you should live in the present moment of each day, and to remember that no one is perfect. I can also apply this to my life along with lots of others I think especially the last 6 or 7 months when we have been in quarantine. I think through this time when we were locked down a lot of people started to cherish the little things in life and to not worry about the bad days but to look ahead like now for the good days being with friends and family and being in classes.

After learning and interpreting Nietzche's theory through our classwork I can relate on a personal level to his way of thinking. Everyone throughout their life as they are brought up into this world have their own various set of beliefs. Whether this is heavily influenced by those around them or it stems by their own opinions or learning overtime. While I was growing up I had my own opinions on what believing in a Godly figure actually meant to me. Nietzche's theory is being able to recognize that there are no rules for human life and that everything throughout life itself there are no certainties and no absolute guarantees. I take this way of looking at life very heavily. As one way of living life shouldn't be superior to another. I also can relate to how it should be accepted to embrace one's past and their mistakes. As nothing should be regretted or taken for granted. As a human I live everyday life that way. My mentality is to not dwell on the past but to also not dwell on the future. There is no reason to over stress on the uncontrollable but to also be aware. It's apart of life for you to make mistake but it is apart of the growing process. If mistakes were never made you would not be able to grow and learn as a human being which in result shapes you as a person.

Julia, I can also relate to what you said about being a college student. We all do have good and bad days and in the end we are all only human. Although it is very important for us to get our work done and study, etc we also have to focus on the more important things in life such as still making time for our family and being more grateful for the people we surround ourselves every day that we might take for granted.

Hunter, I also agree these past several months have not only made people extremely uneasy, scared, and vulnerable but it has also made everyone realize what is really important throughout the world. It in a way was at a complete stop. For months everything that would matter so much to us in the 'real' world suddenly had no meaning during quarantine. It was a completely different outlook on life and still for me in my current life makes me extremely grateful that I'm able to have my family all healthy and attend school like life is basically the same before all this even happened. That is something we could all easily take for granted everyday.

Isabelle, I can relate to you saying that you live to not dwell on the past but also not dwell on the future because you can’t control either of them now. I use to stress about the future because that’s all highschool teachers would engrave Into your head is future future future but I’ve come to realize the last couple years that it doesn’t matter it’s all about the present. You need failures and mistakes to grow as a perosn and without those are you really living your life with a purpose?

Nietzsche's theory can be applied to my life in many ways. He believes that everyone human life has no set rules on how to live and that you decide what your life becomes, rather than there being a set destiny or life for someone. This can be applied to my life because when i was younger my parents used to take me to church on Sundays and although i did not understand everything at the time, it was because they were somewhat christian and believed you had to go to church and worship god. I later in life started to form my own beliefs and what helped me formulate said beliefs was what i have learned in school. I can relate to the theory because i do not necessarily believe fully in Christianity and what is morally expected from christian. I do not believe that there is a certain way everyone must live life because everyone has different values and were brought up or formulated different morals. I also believe that what i do in the present sets what may later happen in the future, not that everything i do is already pre-determined by some higher being. There are many points i can relate to with his theory

I honestly do not know how to adopt this into society because of social norms and the rules set in place by the government and society. These rules already determine what most people under the ruling view as morally correct. In our society killing is wrong but in another society maybe in a different country it could be justifiable. Then to be raised in that society the have children and teach them that the societies rules and norms are correct would then have the following generations believing those are morally correct when who is to say what is correct and what is not. Maybe i have interpreted the question wrong but i do not see a way to put that aspect of Nietzsche's theory into society. The government already gives rules on how to live in some aspects.
