Younger than me, but much more fluent in Spanish & the culture than I, she inspired me to continue on as a RL in Amigos proving how much fun it could be. I'll never forget when we were cornered by a pack of growling dogs one night, Krista yelled at them so loud, while waving her arms, they all ran away in fear. She was capable of handling any situation and truly was inspirational to all of us who were lucky enough to know her. I am so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful spirit. And even in the midst of all that, you carried an attitude full of excitement and empathy.


I came to support you and welcome you, but in the end, I was the one who felt special — because you had that unique ability to make others feel seen and appreciated.


You are deeply missed at work, and I’m sure you’re missed even more at home. I’ll always remember you fondly, Krista.


Thank you for everything you did and the legacy you left at AMIGOS.
