Today I learned how to spin on the silk from a hip key. I think that when we first learned how to do a hip key I was quite frustrated that I could not do it that day and now I am able to use it as a tool to go into other tricks on the silk. I think that I need to learn to just be more patient with myself with silks and to not be as afraid. I feel like I get nervous to perform the tricks at a higher level from the ground but, i need to just do it. Today I finally got up higher and performed a hip key into a spin!

Today we accomplished a lot of our share day piece in modern! I think that this piece is beautiful and that we as a level really came together to almost finish it today. The movement that we created today is very heavy, sharp, and fast because we wanted to go along with the theme of the song "take my body" meaning you always will have someone to lean on when you are down to help you recover fast, and we also wanted to match the accents in the music.

Today in modern we had a chance to work on improving our choreography pieces and really developing them. We made a lot of changes in our piece such as adding in a little battle between Lia and I, I made my movement less literal and more minimal, I added more twitching to show that I was mentally unstable, Lia changed the way she died, and lastly we added more unexpected movement to show how unexpected events like these happen in real life.

Today I am reflecting upon a video of a dance that I found on YouTube called the "Break Up Story". I believe that this dance is very inspiring and beautifully illustrated by the dancers performing in this piece. I picked to put this on my padlet because of how committed the performers are in this piece. I think that commitment is a huge part of being a dancer because of you aren't committed to the choreography, then you won't be able to portray the story to the audience.

Today I am reflecting upon the video titled "Halo" that we viewed in class previously. I found this beautiful and the amount of control each dancer demonstrated inspired me. I think that it is amazing how beautiful and effortless dancers can grow up to be after years of training. Everything just seems so light and lifted!
