I like to mix up the comprehension questions so all students are engaged. For example, one day we do it all together, the next day they do a TPS, groups, and etc. This seems to really get everyone engaged and answering comprehension questions.

I would like to incorporate more of the pausing pages into my daily instruction/center time to allow students more practice with specific skills. Am I able to use these pages more often or do I need to be using them with the pausing points provided?

Please use pausing point activities at any time you see fit throughout the units. Pausing point days can also be spread out, you don't have to wait for the end of the unit. Also, look for Additional Supports -- a section of activities following each skills lesson. These are activities tied directly to the lesson content and provide multi modal activities for added practice beyond the lesson time.

The students know the expectations and procedures and routine of the curriculum.

I would also like to be able to incorporate more of the pausing points and practice pages because the lessons of the skills teach a skill and practice it that day then learn a new skill the next day. I feel like they need more practice with it and fully understand the concept because it is crucial to learn the vowel teams and such to read the difficult words. I do not feel like there is enough time in the day or the allotted time to add extra practice either.

My students love getting out their white boards and doing the word chains or practicing writing words practicing the skills being taught like plural and singular words. They like to come up to the board and circle the nouns and verbs in the sentences.

I really like how knowledge builds in the pausing points to be consecutive with the lessons. I need to be better at utilizing the pausing points as well to hopefully reinforce skills that are all ready taught.

I have provided elkonin boxes to all of my students for their spelling tests. This allows them to really think about the sounds and the spelling patterns associated with those sounds. Yes, this takes a bit more time, but I am find that their spelling tests are much improved.
