The document convinces you that the authors take on the events is valid because the author does not pick one side to evaluate. To add on to this, the author mentions that both sides played well and really just summarized the game. Also, since the author is a head referee, you can assume he is morally unbiased since his job is based on just that. Furthermore, since he had to watch the game so closely, you believe that what he says is to be true.

A report of the 2010 Lawrenceville-Hill football game. A reporter wrote the document, but it is based off of the opinions of the head referee. It seems that the purpose is to remind the community of the incident so that it won't happen again in the future.

Lawrenceville and Hill had an intense game. Lawrenceville had a fumble at the end and lost the game. During the handshakes, words were exchanged and a fight broke out. The ref's claim is that it wasn't anyone's fault, and since the boys were so amped, a fight was actually due to happen.

The document convinces you that the author's take could be problematic because it's from the point of view of the head referee despite them not being very involved in breaking up the fight. The article states that the refs didn't have much authority once the game had ended, so it was up to the coaches and administrators to separate the fight. While the author states that no one was to blame for the fight, they didn't seem to be close enough to the fight to see what had happened and who started it. The article was also published a year after the events, so it's likely somewhat fuzzy in the author's mind and therefore less accurate.
