Sports was forbidden. After she spent hours online with her friends and in school lessons, more and more friends drop out and she feels she has to switch off. Her parents are working in the home office and everybody is getting on each others nerves. Parents have no time to talk to her. She feels depressed and anxious. She is often crying for no obvious reason. There is no one to talk to, but she heard about professional help systems. It`s free of charge and it`s always available. So she dials the number of the telephone counselling. It offers her the necessary privacy and safe space ...

We are talking about gaining competences, building a network, making friends... but first and foremost it's all about having fun. It is the start for all other things. If there's no fun, the rest isn't there either. It's like in school: if children don't like coming, they won't learn. Having fun is not just about parties (although there should be), fun is in many things: making policy together, contributing and seeing that it works, celebrating successes, putting together a game and seeing that children are completely absorbed in it, doing what you love to do (while you may not even be good at it...). No fun, no volunteers, no youthwork
