         <title>Who was Sara Fortis?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Sara Fortis was born in 1927 (She is alive to this day) in Chalkis, a very small Greek town. When Sara was around 2 months old, her father passed away, making Sara barely know her father. Sara and her sister was raised by their mother and they had a happy childhood. </p><p><br/></p><p>Sara was identified as 100% Greek but she really loved celebrating Jewish things, including lighting candles every Friday and even attended the temple on holidays. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In 1941, Germans invaded her hometown. Sara had heard about other Jews in other small towns being deported by the Nazi’s and never returning. Sara and her mother escaped to a small village of Kuturla and hid there for only a short while. </p><p><br/></p><p>Since it was becoming more dangerous for Jews, Sara was eventually told to escape while other villagers agreed to hide her mother. Because of Sara having to leave her mother, that is when Sara chose to become a resistance fighter, she was only 14 when she became a resistance fighter.</p><p><br/></p><p>She wanted to play a significant role in the group, so soon after, she began to travel from village to village, recruiting other women who wanted to fight. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
