Sara was identified as 100% Greek but she really loved celebrating Jewish things, including lighting candles every Friday and even attended the temple on holidays.

Since it was becoming more dangerous for Jews, Sara was eventually told to escape while other villagers agreed to hide her mother. Because of Sara having to leave her mother, that is when Sara chose to become a resistance fighter, she was only 14 when she became a resistance fighter.

She wanted to play a significant role in the group, so soon after, she began to travel from village to village, recruiting other women who wanted to fight.
