We still can remember vividly there is an event that is memorable in our life : Eco Run which was organized by Universiti Malaysia Pahang under Expoconvo. Eco Run was one of the many of Expoconvo events. In this event, we could experience a lot of sensations thatwere enjoyable .This event really means a lot to us because we took part in this awesome event together . We really enjoy it as running can make our body healthier , moreover the section of planting trees is the best part of the event as it could save our environment. This Eco Run event was held on 28 September 2014 which included tree planting section,the run around campus and prizes giving ceremony.

It was a misty Sunday morning , the opening ceremony of Eco Run began at 8.00 a.m and then followed by the tree planting section .Three of us decided to meet at the cafe before heading to Komplek Sukan .There were lots of people when we reached. We saw that most people were dressed in blue t-shirts and they looked uniformly. The music played by the DJ was extremely loud and could be heard around each angle of the hall . We registered at the registration counter and each of us was given a soft tuna flavour bun as breakfast and a blue colour t-shirt .We were told by the committee to change our outfit , the blue coloured printed t-shirts with Eco Run logo fit us perfectly. The hall was a sea of blue when everyone had put on the blue shirt. All of the participants were lining on the field for the opening ceremony . Speech was given by Datuk Najib bin Muhammad who was the invited VIP and also the sponsor of the event. Then ,national anthem was played so everyone stood seriously and sang as loud as they could .The atmosphere of the hall was serious and silent when the national anthem was played .After the opening ceremony ,we went to the field for tree planting . We could feel the air surrounding us was fresh and cool and the chirping of the birds was like a nice melody in our ears. The sapling was ready so we just had to put the sapling into the ground .All of us worked together to plant the sapling and we ended with watering the sapling carefully . It was a enjoyable moment for us as it was our first time to plant a tree.

After the tree planting section, its time for the run around the campus. Everyone was asked to gather at the starting point when the run was almost to start .There were 2 categories which was boys and girls.The journey of the run was around UMP Campus which is 5km. We were on the starting line and ready for the sound of gun .’’Bang !” we began to run as fast as we could when we heard the sound of the gun . Along the way , the sun was warm and luckily we did not get sunburned.The green scenery and variety unique flora along the road caught our eyes , it was somehow like an artistic painting which we never seen before. We enjoyed the scenery very much but we still felt exhausted and tired .Our throat was dry out and we felt breathless.Finally , we reached at the ending point .After reaching the end point, everyone was given a bottle of mineral water and our throat was refreshing again .We could feel there was a cool breeze blowing from nowhere, but it did very little for the sweating gyrating body. The run made us felt exhautsting but we really enjoy it.

  After everyone had reached the end point, the closing ceremony began after awhile.Everyone was asked to enter the hall for the prize giving ceremony .Hampers and medals were given to all of the winners . We was shocked when one of our member’s name was in the winners list .We cheered loudly for Evon when she went up the stage to receive the golden medal and the hamper.  The hall was filled with sound of clapping and cheering, the atmosphere was really joyful. The event ended up with photographing section which included all participants .Then ,people started pushing each other again to get out of that enormous hall. It  came to the end of the event , its time for us to left the hall. When we stepped out of the hall, our sense of smell were attracted by something smelled nice. There were many attractive cart selling food outside the hall . As we could see that , there were variety colour of juice selling on the cart. We could smell the tantalizing aromas of crispy fried chicken ,  cheezy  pizza, hotdog and etc. The only words that could  we say were the food really smelled delicious. The smell of hot dogs carries through the field. Shankar ,who was  one of our group  members decided to treat us some drink so he bought us three small bottle of cold sour plum juice. In the end, the closing ceremony ended well and we left the hall together while enjoying our drinks.

Go green go healthy , the slogan of Eco Run event , we will practice it in our  life in order to play our role in protecting the environment. It was such a meaningful and amazing event that we had ever took part. We hope that it will be held every year and we will take part it again . It was our responsible to save our environment so we will play  our role in keeping the earth clean and beautiful .It was really worth the moment.
