In these pages. George was frustrated that his father complied with the government putting them in camps. I chose LEAD THE RACE by comethazine because I thought it fit the vibe with frustration with the beat of the song coming out quite aggressive. Also as in the first opening of the song “LEAD THE RACE” “ Your opinion, you can keep it, I'm undefeated, I really don't need it.” Fit really well with the argument taking place between George and his father.

In these pages. A man named Herbert Nicholson delivered books from the books store to the nearby camps. Not everyone appreciated his work. He went above and beyond delivering books, he also took pets to vets outside of the camps. He devoted his life to advocating the Japanese Americans during, as well after the war. I thought that this song was such a good pick for this section because the lyrics and flow always bring me joy. In “Topanga” one of the verses said “open my hands like jesus and save ya” fit really well with Herbert Nicholoson helping out the Japanese from outside the gates with pet needs and bringing books to the children. The overall vibe of the song would definitely fit with this scene.

In these pages. H.R. 4103 was drafted by Attorney General Francis Biddle. Then on July 1, 1944, public law 78-405 was signed by the president. The Japanese people responded to racism and camps closing. This song is almost a perfect fit with the melody chorus and some lyrics. The part of the song that connects well with this section. In “walk on by” a verse says “We mastered the pressure hazardous, harassing us. You laugh at us” fit so well with the discrimination and racism the Japanese endured.

In these pages. Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombed. Camp members were directly impacted. Many of the family including theirs was worried for their relatives. Japanese couldn't believe the war ended. Many Japanese were deported back to japan. I think this song fits this section really well Because it has a slow melodic tempo. The lyrics in the song give off that depressing, sad state of mind feeling. This song really puts yourself into the perspective

In these pages. Their first home after the camps was down skid row. They consistently smelt piss down the alley and street. Stairs scared the kids because they have never had a two story house. I think this song fits with his section because in the song”Traumatized” NBA young boy states “ I swear im traumatized ,whoa i'm caught up in that fire”I think this correlates well because George and his family are traumatized after having to live in skid row with all the homeless people, and the smell of urine everywhere.
