This module changed my idea about the tools that are very important to know in the process of learning, I have learned the new teaching tools. Now, I realize that assessment doesn't mean the traditional ways of exams at the end of a course, instead it means that assessment of the whole learning process should be done throughout a course, and to assess the knowledge that is given in that course to the learner, and how can he use it in his life in the future.
There are very inspiring ideas and methods of teaching that are new for me, for example: the E-learning tools such as facial recognition, duo lingo, and virtual reality, in fact I was amazed by these new techniques that I can use in the future, and introduce the knowledge to my students by using these intelligent techniques.
The Innovative Pedagogy introduced the 21st century skills in learning, such as the critical thinking, I think this skill is very important, this is because that it introduces the different ways of thinking in a class, it motivates the students to think freely and say what they think easily without any fear, this is totally opposite to what we learned previously in the teacher-based learning.
Another skill is creativity, which means that the student can be creative as much as he can and can show the skills that he has in his classroom. Collaboration is another important skill that makes the learners help each other for example in finishing a project as a group, this makes the collaboration a very good way of working in the future.
The last skill is communication, this means that every student should have a good communication with his friends in the class in order to help each others in the process of learning.
In order to make pedagogy be effective and more powerful we should have some elements like: effective content and context, combination of different approaches, and change in the approach according to the situation, in fact, the most important point is the (change), because I think the different ways of teaching according to the environment of a class is the best way of teaching, for example; sometimes I can start my class with some theoretical points, but in other times I should start in a practical manner in order to keep the class on track.
I was amazed by the new teaching methods like workshops, fishbowl learning, flipped learning, authentic learning, and many more methods that are all new for me.
There are some points that should be followed in the workshops in order to be beneficial, for example: determination of its goal and determination of the persons who can attend it. its really crucial to minimize the number of attendances to those who will get benefit from that workshop. I was surprised by the fishbowl learning method, and how we did it practically. I can use it in the future with my students, because I am sure that it is very informative way of teaching that makes the students remember the knowledge for a longer time than the traditional ways of teaching. Another way of teaching is authentic learning, which means that it reflects a real world problem, and it is related to reality so that the students can understand in an easier manner.

Learning environment, another part of this module, is a diverse physical location, context and culture, in which the student learns. the different physical factors that should be present in a class include for example: a good building, gardens, car parks, libraries, laboratories, classrooms, restaurants and cafe`s, toilets, sport hubs and etc.... all of these and many other small details make the learning process more beautiful, productive, easy and elegant.
One of the basic and important things that should be present in a university is a library, libraries are of different types, traditional library is one type, another type is an online library. there are many benefits of a library, for example: it is public and the students can communicate with each other, and even the teachers can meet their students in the library where they can study and exchange their ideas.
Another important feature of a good learning environment is the presence of laboratories, specially in the medical fields, because most of the experiments can be done practically in the laboratories so that the student can learn in an authentic manner and can remember the knowledge for a longer time.
In order to create a positive learning environment we should check everything related to the learning process, because a learning environment is not only the classroom and the building, it is the whole process of learning that should be perfect so that we can create a positive learning environment. Some of the criteria of a good learning environment includes: safety, respect, relationships, trust and honesty, supports, decorations, communications, extra help hours from the teachers, and positive praise.
Safety in a classroom and a whole university is the most important point that we should think about in order to produce a good environment for learning, that is because if the student or the teacher doesn't feel safe, they can not be productive and the whole process of learning will be affected in a negative way. When the students respect their teacher and in turn the teacher respects his own students, the process of learning will be easier and the problems will be less, and this will make them concentrate more on the learning process. In addition to these factors, a good relationship in between the students is very crucial in order to finish the works and assignments in groups which is the basis of student-centered learning. sometimes a student may have a problem, and if the teacher knows about this issue, he should provide the best support for his student and try to solve the problem in any way that it takes. Another point that attracted me in this module is that if a student needs help in a topic, the teacher should provide extra help hours for that student, I was impressed by this point and I will do it with my students, because it is important to answer every question that is asked by the students in order to give them the information in a complete manner. In addition, to these factors there is a very important factor to me which is trust and honesty, if there is trust, there is a positive energy and positive vibes in the classroom, making the classes easier and more comfortable.
I think sometimes decorations can affect the learning environment as well, for example: if a teacher gives classes in biology, and there are posters about animals and plants, it makes the students interact with the subject more. Or if a class of anatomy has many pictures on the human body and skeletons this makes the teaching more beneficial.

An important part of this module is the assessment tools, the assessment process starts with identification of the goals of learning and ends with the judgement of the outcomes. Previously I thought that the assessment process includes the traditional ways that were regulated by the departments, for example the marks were divided between exams, reports, practical exams etc......But this module changed this idea to that I can do the assessment using my own ways, I can manage my class in a way that sometimes an exam at the end is not needed for their assessment, instead I can assess their knowledge by different new ways like: discussing an article, presenting a seminar or writing a report.
Assessment process is a very important part of learning, because this will guide the learning process, and can determine the level of knowledge acquisition by the students. I have learned in this module that assessment is the evaluation of every aspect of the learner; his cognitive knowledge, psycho motor skills and his attitude. I think the most crucial evaluation is that of the attitude, and whether the student has passion in learning in his particular field or not?
One of the tools of assessment is the diagnostic assessment, which I think it is very important to be done before the start of any course, this can be done by a short quiz, or by some multiple choice or matching questions, in addition, the evaluation of the student`s passion in that field is very useful because sometimes a student can not finish a college because of lack of attitude or passion to that particular field.
It is good to use formative assessment as well, because it can be done throughout a course and it can give me a feedback on the level of the student`s knowledge on a particular topic, so that if there is any gap or defect , I can fix it as soon as possible. The teacher also can use summative assessment which is done at the end of a course. Another way of evaluation of learning is done by the learner himself or by his peers, but we should be aware of the soft skills that the students should have in order to make this assessment objective and true, I mean that sometimes the students don`t know how to assess themselves , or sometimes a learner may give a bad feed back on his peer intentionally, these problems should be stressed on and solved.
I have learned in this module that the use of multiple methods of assessment is better then the use of a single method, that`s because one method can not be applied to every topic, and also the use of one method is limited to only few aspects of the student. It is important to select the best method or the best multiple methods for the assessment of different topics, for example: using the assessment map, or the use of direct and indirect methods in evaluations, by direct I mean (tests, presentations, etc...), on the other hand, indirect methods include (surveys, interviews, etc...).
A very interesting thing to me in this module is how to provide a rubric to my students, I knew about rubrics previously but to provide it before the assignment that I want to give to my students, is new for me and I am interested in using it in the future with my class.
The main point is to provide a new generation that is capable of working and efficient in that work in the future, it is very important for this new generation to have the ability to cope with the new challenges including challenges of technologies. Another part of this module, which was very interesting to me, is how to assess and when to assess? using which method? and how to prepare a rubric? All of these were very informative and effective for my future in the teaching process.
