Goal Setting – I keep myself focused by breaking things down into small, doable steps instead of stressing over the big picture all at once. If I need to refine a design, research industry trends, or knock out an assignment, I take it piece by piece so it actually feels like I’m making progress. Seeing things move forward keeps me motivated and makes the work feel worth it.

Self-Reinforcement – I make sure to recognize my work because the textbook says motivation strengthens when achievements are acknowledged. When I finish an assignment or complete a branding milestone, I give myself space to enjoy the creative process whether that’s brainstorming fresh designs or stepping back for a well-earned break. The textbook also mentions minimizing distractions as a way to sustain motivation. So, I set up my workspace to stay focused, making sure I have time set aside for deep work on my brand and studies.

Another method is minimizing distractions the textbook suggests setting up your environment to encourage focus. This could mean structuring your workspace to eliminate interruptions or scheduling dedicated time for branding work and academic tasks. By creating a system where progress is acknowledged and distractions are reduced, motivation remains steady.

I think humanistic theory fits best when it comes to staying motivated. Motherhood pushes me to keep going, no matter how overwhelming things get. Building my brand isn’t just about making money it’s about creating something that reflects my creativity and the confidence I want others to feel when they wear my designs. Knowing that every assignment and every project helps me get closer to that vision makes the work feel worthwhile. It’s not just about checking off tasks it’s about shaping my future in a way that actually means something to me.

We watch others all the time whether it’s classmates, family, or people we look up to and that influences how we act. When I see someone working hard and making progress, it makes me want to step up my game too. It’s also about support systems. Being in the right environment with encouraging people helps me stay motivated and grow.

is about understanding people as a whole and recognizing that we’re all unique. It believes we’re driven by free will and the desire to become the best version of ourselves. For me, that means connecting with things that matter—like using school and branding to grow into the person I want to be. This theory reminds me that motivation starts inside, with values and purpose.

This theory is about how rewards and consequences influence what we do. If we get something good out of an action like a compliment or a good grade we’re more likely to do it again. It’s kind of like training your brain to respond to outcomes. In school, if I get praised for turning something in early, that good feeling motivates me to keep it up. It’s not always about what I want deep down It’s about how the outside world reacts and how that shapes my actions.
