While things do oppose such as certain social movements, there is something to be learned about the successes and failures that they encounter. I briefly touched on this with the Charlotte riots, but failed to look at it in a positive manner. I can easily attribute this to the fictional character, Updike Underhill, and his many failures that he learned from and trained from. This causes a divide between the parties and can lead to negative repercussions.  This topic was touched on before with the activist group issues and is something that still burdens society today. In The Minister's Black Veil the whole town turns against the priest because they do not understand. It is a simple change to everyday life that causes a stir that he burdens till his death.

I touched briefly on electrical resistors, but none of which dealt with the human body and this picture is more easy applied to daily life. He could choose to let the boulder go and see what happens but he instead continues pushing it, hoping for change. This could go on indefinitely, but he believes it is what must be done. The inner conflict that ensues, causes you to resist certain emotions or actions in order to do what you feel is best. This is a type of resistance that I failed to mention the first time around, but can be the most intense, emotionally, to go through. This is a connection that differs from the others as I compared more things not associated with race, but politics.
