Passage: 

¹Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

²Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

The first part of the passage reminds me what I'm going through, and reminds me that I need to be careful not to be overtaken in sins. Also, when I see someone caught in sins, I need to restore them, but gently. The second half tell me that there's a group of people who are willing to help me, and I can help them when they needed, to fulfill the law of Christ: Love one another.

Passage:

¹³ And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.¹⁴ Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. ¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

According the Bible, 2000 years ago, a human being, named Jesus, was born on this earth, and he went through his life until the age of 30. But is all of that necessary? Because of our God tell us He is the God of love, justice, holiness, and grace. We can use those as conditions to prove that in order to save the humanity, it must be that way. To me, it's like a rigorous mathematical proof, but with something I always think I'll never understand, and I'm truly amazed by that.

Passage:

¹ The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. ² They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. ³ They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. ⁴ But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand.

Why is the resurrection so offensive to the Sadducees? It seems like it should be a good news for everyone. That's because the Sadducees, as influential leaders and patricians, invested so much in this life that when Peter said this life is not all it is, and all you achieve in this life will not matter one day.

In fact, not only the resurrection is offensive to our earthly achievement, it's also offensive to our earthly suffering. Your suffering in this life is nothing compare to the eternity.

Therefore, that greatly offended those who idolize social justice. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't care about social justice. But we need to remember to not let the suffering in this world outweighed the glory of eternal life.

¹The Lord said to Moses, ²“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. ³And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, ⁴blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats' hair, ⁵tanned rams' skins, goatskins, acacia wood, ⁶oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, ⁷onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. ⁸And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.

Almost all of religions on earth has one in common. That is, the goal of this religions involve moral performance. If you do something good, you go to heaven or get blessed. Otherwise, you go to hell. But Christianity is unique. the core of Christianity is actually not about becoming a better person, and unlike other religions, our God want to be with us. In the Old Testament, Jewish people build tabernacle and temple, which physically filled with God's glory. After Jesus died for our sins, that same glory is able to live inside every Christian. Sometime, I fell like God is very far away. But this passage remind me that the same glory that was inside the temple of Jerusalem is always with me.
