Antioch is a city located near the Orontes river in Syria.<br>2. Antioch was founded in 301 BCE by Seleucus I Nicator one of Alexander the Greats generals. The city became the capital of the Sleucid Empire which was founded by Seleucus I Nicator, who also founded the city until 63 BCE when Roman soldiers conquered it.&nbsp;<br>3. After Antioch was conquered by the Romans it was made the capital of Eastern part of the Roman empire.&nbsp;<br>4. The Romans also brought with them aqueducts, chariot racing, improved roads and of course a roman favorite, bath houses. Roman culture stayed with it until the 700's when it was invaded by the Rashidun Caliphate, was recaptured 200 years later and then captured again by an army of Turks.<br>5. Antioch traded gold which most of went to China. They also spread Christianity as they were located in the Holy Land of Christianity. &nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

Chang'an or how it's known today Xi'an was the capital of 10 Chinese dynasties.<br>2. The city is located to the north of the Qin Mountains on a low plain near the Wei River. &nbsp;<br>3. Xi'an was the location of the terracotta army. The terracotta army is a well an army made of terracotta supposed to represent&nbsp; Qin Shi Huang's, the first emperor of China, army.<br>4.&nbsp;Xi'an or Chang'an was the starting point of the Eastern silk road. Chang'an traded mainly silk   to the western empires. It is the reason it's called the Silk road because they exported a lot of silk. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dunhuang was a major stop on the Silk Road and an important military town. It was a major stop, because it was at the converging point of the northern and southern roads around the Tarim Basin. At about 366 BCE Dunhuang became a large center for Buddhism, and the nearby Mogao caves (photo attached) were filled with transcripts and artifacts from that time.&nbsp;<br><br>Side Note: Is anyone else having the problem where the picture won't show right?<br><br>Edit: Pay no attention to the links.
