A Proxy War is when one country is representing one side to fight the other side without fighting them themselves. There are now 500,000 American troops in Vietnam and with this come even more protests in America so stop this war. 5. The war comes to an end after the US pulls out of it do to public protests. The Soviets supplied the North cause they wanted the spread of Communism. The US supplied the South cause they wanted to Contain Communism. This right here is what the cold war was about. Trying to beat the other side without confronting them directly. The Vietnam war is one of biggest examples of this because it lasted nearly 20 years. The Vietnam war connects to today because it showed us that most regular people do not want war and want peace. Examples of today is the Ukraine-Russian conflict.
