         <description><![CDATA[<p>Signed up for and provided written responses for why Moten ES's fifth graders should be part of the Embassy Adoption Program. Attended the orientation, created an action plan, and build up students' background knowledge. Background knowledge included teaching students map skills, i.e., where Brazil and its capital are located as well as the rainforest and a few important historical sites. Also found America and its capital, Washington D.C. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Prior to the visit, we discussed art museums, why the cost of D.C.'s art museums are free, nudity in artwork, and found videos from the artists explaining what their artwork represents and means for them. </p><p><br></p><p>During the visit, students were told to look for five types of music the twins stated influenced their work and to decide on their favorite artwork.</p><p><br></p><p>Students tried and shared matcha ice cream from the museum's cafe. Also had time to visit the other exhibits, e.g., Basquiat.</p>]]></description>
