EOPS/NextUp offer so much more than just grants and financial assistance. While these can be very important for student support, the aspects of these programs that students found the most helpful were the opportunities for personal guidance and human connection. I learned that building community for these students is one of the most important things we can do.

Opening up conversation and being a supportive voice. We can also recognize the need for equitable care and do our best to either provide it or connect students with the right resources

Being informed of student needs and listening to them when they need it most. We can also continue to attend events like today to continue our learning as programs and student needs shift overtime

Providing access to the statistics/data that apply to foster youth would be a great way of informing the college community of what these students face and would provide those who are less informed with a necessary perspective for helping them
