-During this time the People of God are called to commemorate and reflect on the Lord's passion through spiritual preparation, conversion, and penance.

-This Holy Season is an invitation to renew our baptismal call. To live as Sons and daughters of God and disciples of Christ, our Lord and savior.

-Lent is a time where we can all show each other kindness and hospitality. Jesus did not suffer his entire life to have us hate each other. All of us we have never got the chance to come around and talk to. You can all make someone feel welcome into our community. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and marks the first day of Lent, the six weeks of penitence before Easter.

-As Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, many Christians begin the fast by marking a calendar for the upcoming 40 days, praying a daily devotional, and offering a sacrifice that they won't be able to enjoy until Eastertide.

-On Ash Wednesday, many Christians attend special church services where attendees are given ash on their foreheads. The name "Ash Wednesday" comes from this custom, in which the ashes are placed along with the words "Repent, and believe in the Gospel," or the proverb "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." He gave in the same way that He had hope and faith in the live souls of others. Jesus went through a lengthy day of suffering, but He nonetheless rose again for the world and for us. Jesus placed us in a safe location so that we may feel safe and be with Him. To remind us of His sacrifices and to help us identify with Him in His holy sufferings, we placed ashes on the first day of Lent. And when I pray to God and sense His presence around me, it touches my heart so deeply. When I reflect on this Lent, I realized that God had already spoken to my heart: "Do not be afraid, open your eyes and you can only see me." These words struck inside of me and made me realize that God is always with me, through my happy days, even in my lonely days. There are times when I am afraid of going down an unfamiliar path alone without any idea of what I'm going to do.
