         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>The sales and marketing department is a more needed department as compared to revenue management. This is so as sales and marketing will build relationships with clients and these relationships are very useful as they generate more revenue for the hotel. Developing long lasting relationships also helps develop customer loyalty which in turn helps generate long term sales for the hotel because these customers will come back. It is known to be more expensive to source for and attract new customers than to maintain them, hence this department is essential to ensure customer loyalty.</div><div>On the other hand, revenue management is important too as it helps the hotel to decide which areas to sell and which areas are suited for what clients. It helps in making sales more efficient and productive. However this may only be a temporary effective measure as customers may not feel as welcomed or comfortable without the sales and marketing team.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Revenue management has now changed over the time due to the introduction of technology. <br>The revenue management department have to start changing their ways in terms of their training and technology to better suit the ever changing market place.<br>As quoted from the article: "an always-connected existence brings huge business opportunities for players who can differentiate themselves out of there competitors by delivering the right, intended customer experience every time experiences that are personal, participatory and timely. " Therefore, businesses have to start changing their methods in order to stay ahead of their competitors.</div>]]></description>
