For my year-round project, I have chosen the topic "Human Rights Violations Around the World." I will focus on themes such as forced labor and human trafficking, freedom of speech and censorship or women's rights. I selected this topic because I think it's important for people to be aware of what is happening to some people around the world. I also want to explore more about the topic myself and learn some new information.

For my fourth project, I chose the app called "Human Rights Academy." It has no ratings on Google Play, which is a bit suspicious, but it may be because the app is not very popular.

About the app: This app is designed for people who want to learn more about human rights. It offers courses in different languages, including the Czech language, which is quite surprising to me. There is a wide variety of courses, for example: 'The Rights of Refugees,' 'Indigenous People's Land Rights,' or 'An introduction to child rights'. The app is very simple, you just click on the on the course you want to learn from and sign in. It offers approximately 30 courses in English.

My rating: I have completed the course called 'Obránci lidských práv: stručný průvodce.' I think it took me about 15 minutes to finish the entire course. I chose one of the shorter courses, so it wasn't that educational, but I still found it great. The text and instructions are clear, and the graphics are well-done. I also appreciate the variety of languages you can pick from. I recommend this app to anyone interested in learning about human rights.

How can we raise awareness about the topic of human rights ?

I think that reading books about human rights can be highly educational, but it's not for everybody, since not everybody likes to read. Here are a few books that can raise awareness about my topic :

To Kill a Mockingbird
I am Malala
Book Thief

If you don't like books there are a lot of movies, series and documentaries that introduce the topic of human rights. My favourite movie has to be either 'The Boy in the Striped pyjamas' which is about the holocaust, or 'The Help,' which portrays the reality of racism and discrimination, confronted by the African-American community.

Another great way how to raise awareness about my topic might be a school trip. For example in Slovakia there is a museum of Jewish or Romani culture. In Prague there is a museum of communism, which offers the insights into the impact of communism on human rights.

Psychologist

I'm interested in psychology, but I'm not 100% sure I want to be a psychologist. Although I would love to help people in that way, I'm not sure that I'm the right person for this job.

Salary : 31 k - 65 k CZK monthly

Qualifications : University (mgr. = 5 years)

Replaceable by AI : It's unlikely that AI will fully replace psychologists.
