The Police Shot Dallas because he had a gun pointed to them but it was loaded. He knew that the police would shoot him but he did it on purpose, he just couldn’t bear with Johnny’s death. Dallas knew the police would shoot so he Committed Suicide because Johnny Died.

The Rude side of Dallas. Cherry and Dallas?

When Two-Bit, Ponyboy, Johnny and Dallas go the drive in movies, they meet 2 girls. At First, Dallas is very rude to both of them but then Johnny steps in and tells Dallas to back off, Johnny being the pet of the gang, he listens and backs off. At the end of the movie Cherry Valance realizes she can fall for a guy like him.

Dallas Saved Johnny and Ponyboy in the Fire at the church. Johnny was stuck in the church so he went in the church and took him out. Ponyboy had fire on his back so Dallas patted his back hard enough to get the fire to go away.

He believes it was important to be tough and mean so that you won’t get hurt, so he tries to not to be emotional but fails when he finds out that Johnny dies. Johnny was all he had that was important to him.
