“Socs were just guys after all things were rough all over, but it was better that way. That way you could tell the other guy was human too.”

This quote explains how just because socs were seen as rich and happy doesn’t mean soc’s and greaser’s don’t go through similar things since it is hard everywhere. So it doesn’t always affect happiness..

This is BY FAR my FAVORITE quote in the entire book. The quote shows how different and weird it felt knowing that the two sides were seeing the same thing the sunset. At the end of the day they are not that much different from each other.
